About the Lecture
Novel technologies and therapies have transformed the management of type 1 diabetes. Today, individuals with type 1 diabetes are living longer than ever before. However, population-based data on the burden, management, and prognosis of type 1 diabetes across the lifespan remain limited. In this talk, Dr. Fang draws on emerging evidence from national health surveys and large electronic health record databases to describe the modern epidemiology of type 1 diabetes in the United States. His talk highlights areas of progress and emerging challenges in type 1 diabetes management, with a focus on glycemic control, obesity, and access to new diabetes technologies.
