About the Webinar
The human microbiome comprises a diverse community of microorganisms that colonize distinct anatomical sites and play essential roles in maintaining health. As evidence of its influence on human physiology and disease continues to grow, there is increasing interest in leveraging individual microbiome profiles for early disease detection, prevention, and prediction of therapeutic response. Despite this promise, integration of microbiome signatures into clinical practice has been hampered by data complexity and inconsistent study outcomes, limiting adoption by healthcare stakeholders. Major challenges include addressing host demographic and technological biases that complicate microbiome data analysis and undermine the development of robust disease classifiers. This presentation will highlight recent advances in systems biology tools, together with emerging bioinformatics approaches, aimed at improving microbiome data integration for precision diagnosis and management of human infectious diseases.
