The Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) is an independent, nonfederal, unpaid panel of public health and prevention experts that utilizes systematic reviews to provide evidence-based findings and recommendations about community preventive services, programs, and policies to improve health. If available studies do not provide sufficient evidence to determine if an intervention is, or is not, effective, the Task Force will issue an insufficient evidence (IE) finding. An insufficient evidence finding indicates a need for more research.
All CPSTF findings and recommendations are listed in the online Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide) . The ODP has also developed a list of the Task Force’s IE findings (PDF - 372 KB). Specific evidence gaps are located under the tab “What the Task Force Found” for each IE finding in The Community Guide.
