NIH: Office of Disease Prevention

Menu

The NIH Office of Disease Prevention (ODP) identifies and disseminates information about research gaps that may be addressed with additional investment or expanded effort by the NIH and the broader research community. The ODP’s aim is to stimulate new research that closes critical gaps identified within prevention research, informs decision-makers, and ultimately improves public health.

The ODP identifies research needs and gaps through several ongoing activities, including its partnership with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in support of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force External Website Policy (USPSTF), with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in support of the Community Preventive Services Task Force External Website Policy, and with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Department of Agriculture (USDA) in support of the National Nutrition Research Roadmap.
