The Role of Opioids in the Treatment of Chronic Pain, Pathways to Prevention. September 29-30, 2014

Working Group members provided their input at a meeting held August 28–29, 2013. The information provided here was accurate at the time of that meeting.

Initial planning for the Pathways to Prevention (P2P) workshop was carried out by a Working Group composed of patient representatives and scientific content area experts from the federal government, academia, and clinical practice. Members of the Working Group were chosen by the sponsoring National Institutes of Health (NIH) Institutes, Centers, or Offices (ICs), as well as attendees of a federal organizational meeting. The Working Group was charged with drafting questions that the AHRQ Evidence-based Practice Center will consider for the systematic evidence report that serves as a foundation for the P2P workshop. The Working Group may draft additional questions for the workshop that will be addressed by invited speakers. These presentations will supplement information provided in the systematic evidence report. The Working Group also finalized the agenda, nominated speakers and panelists, selected the workshop date, and continue to be engaged in ongoing workshop planning.
