Elizabeth Neilson, Ph.D., M.P.H., M.S.N.

Senior Communications Advisor

Dr. Neilson joined the ODP as a Senior Communications Advisor in May 2010. She conducts strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of communications activities and serves as a liaison between journalists and ODP staff. She is also a member of the NIH IC International Representatives Committee and the NIH Dissemination and Implementation Coordinating Group.

Before joining ODP, Dr. Neilson served for six years as an Advocacy Relations Manager at the National Cancer Institute. She also served as Program Director of the DC Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and as an Area Manager for Planned Parenthood.

Dr. Neilson earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University. She also earned a Master of Science in Community Health Nursing, a Master of Public Health, and a Ph.D. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Johns Hopkins University.
