Elizabeth Neilson, M.S.N., M.P.H.

Senior Communications Advisor

Ms. Neilson joined the ODP as a Senior Communications Advisor in May 2010. She conducts strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of communications activities for the Consensus Development Program, the Medicine: Mind the Gap seminar series, and the Medicine in the Media course. She coordinates media relations and serves as a liaison between journalists and ODP staff. She also serves as a representative of the NIH IC International Representatives Committee and the NIH Dissemination and Implementation Coordinating Group.

Before joining ODP, Ms. Neilson served for six years as an Advocacy Relations Manager at the National Cancer Institute. She also served as Program Director of the DC Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and as an Area Manager for Planned Parenthood.

Ms. Neilson earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University, and a Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Community Health Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
