Dr. Sharma joined the ODP as a Prevention Science Research Analyst in January 2020. At the ODP, Dr. Sharma provides research and analytical support across several strategic priorities.
Before joining the ODP, Dr. Sharma worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Her research focused on polypharmacy and prevention of related adverse outcomes in the elderly population. Her responsibilities included providing coding, data collection, data analysis, and literature reviews, as well as maintaining collaborations with different state and national health agencies. Dr. Sharma also has experience in epidemiological studies on maternal and child health, chronic diseases, and tobacco prevention, having worked at various academic and research institutions including Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Sharma is a trained physician from India with a medical degree from Manipal University, now known as Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Delhi, India). She received a Master of Public Health with a concentration in social and behavioral sciences from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (Baltimore, MD).
