Dr. Erin Ellis joined the ODP as a Health Science Policy Analyst in 2019. In this role, she monitors NIH investments in prevention research and assesses the results of that research. She also supports activities aimed at identifying prevention research areas for investment or expanded effort by the NIH.
Prior to joining the ODP, Dr. Ellis was a Cancer Prevention Fellow at the National Cancer Institute where her research examined health-related judgments and decision making. Specifically, she studies how emotional processes, risk perceptions, and other psychosocial factors influence health behaviors and medical decision making.
Dr. Ellis earned a Ph.D. in community health and health behavior from the University at Buffalo, an M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, an M.S. in administration from the University of Rochester, and a B.A. in psychology from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
